Native Fish Society Board Service Opportunity: Now Accepting Applications!

Posted:

Native Fish Society seeks volunteer Board Members to guide our organization’s growth and strategic direction as we cultivate a diverse groundswell of public support to revive abundant wild fish across the Pacific Northwest.

We are eager to fill key board positions, including Board Treasurer and Board Administrative Officer. An ideal candidate will have lived experience working with and representing diverse races, ages, genders, sexual orientations, abilities, and economic backgrounds.

Board members can focus their service on leadership, fundraising, or providing a skill set that will enhance the operations of Native Fish Society. Please don't hesitate to direct any questions you might have to Executive Director Mark Sherwood.

NFS is seeking candidates with:

  • An interest in serving in the Board Treasurer and Board Administrative Officer positions.

  • Experience in financial management, fundraising, nonprofit governance, equity and inclusion, and policy development.

  • Competencies and experience with equitable and inclusive leadership and growth.

  • Geographic representation from Washington, Oregon, and Northern California. Additional consideration for candidates from central, eastern, and southern Oregon.

If you have a passion for the Native Fish Society’s mission, vision, and values, we want to hear from you. You do not have to meet every qualification listed above. Our goal is to diversify our Board and will take into account lived experiences and skills.

After a decade of landmark efforts, protecting thousands of miles of fish habitat, and creating the largest network of wild fish rivers south of British Columbia, Native Fish Society is growing the groundswell of public support to provide more accessible actions for volunteers in our backyard rivers. Additionally, we aim to deepen the wild fish community’s local involvement through regional chapters so we can take on the significant challenges that stand in the way of abundant, wild native fish.

Our goal is to deliver proactive grassroots advocacy and policy solutions that ensure all Northwest communities enjoy healthy homewaters with abundant wild fish.
