White Salmon River Steelhead Gene Bank Project

Posted:

Native Fish Society will be hosting a lunch and learn featuring the White Salmon River, by our River Steward and board chair, Paul Fortino on Thursday, January 14th, 2021, from 12:00pm - 12:45pm. The presentation will be 25 minutes with 20 minutes of Q&A and discussion.

The White Salmon is located on the Washington side of the Columbia river, just across the water from Hood River, Oregon.

From a 100 year old dam being removed in 2011, to becoming a designated *Steelhead Gene Bank River, Paul Fortino will share the rich, storied history of the White Salmon river, and we will brief you on our Steelhead Gene Bank project.

So get your lunch ready, and join us for another wonderful segment in our Lunch and Learn Series! Click here to RSVP, and you will receive a calendar invitation.

We look forward to gathering virtually with our community to continue our journey as stewards and keepers of the wild.

*Steelhead Gene Bank designation means that no hatchery Steelhead will be introduced into these systems.
